Purpose of Role/Job Overview


As the L&D Business Partner you will be part of a newly formed team and have the opportunity to build our L&D offer to support our aim to make TOG a ‘like no other’ place to work.  Your role reports directly to the Head of L&D and you will be responsible for designing and delivering learning interventions that support the development of our talent pool. A great relationship builder and facilitator, you will support, coach and inspire our teams and leaders to grow.


Key Accountabilities

  • To deliver and constantly evaluate the onboarding process, recommending, developing and delivering improvements.
  • To ensure our teams have access to the relevant skills training they need to perform in their role as well as constantly review and improve the training they require, as well as the tools they need.
  • To manage our e-learning platform, ensuring content is evaluated and reviewed, as well as managing all admin tasks to create a seamless experience for our people
  • To design and deliver training and development interventions to our people, always considering TOG’s culture, values and tone of voice
  • To measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the training we deliver to continuously improve our offer and deliver our ROI, keeping accurate records and managing our admin relating to all things learning
  • To demonstrate strong relationship building and networking skills to effectively partner with the business, and the People team
  • To support performance and talent management
  • To generate best practice, considering advancements in the industry whilst always maintaining our culture
  • To deliver feedback to improve performance – role modelling our culture
  • To ensure your objectives are in line with the strategic aims of the department, and the wider business, and constantly evaluate and evolve them, where necessary
  • To juggle shifting and changing priorities with ease and won’t let it hold you back
  • To facilitate team days, as well as individual coaching when required
  • To actively seek feedback and seize opportunities to learn and develop


Essential Skills & Requirements

  • Experience working in L&D in an operations, multi-site hospitality or retail industry
  • A university degree is essential
  • L&D qualifications are desirable but not a must
  • A confident understanding of the full training cycle – including learning needs, analysis, design, delivery and evaluation
  • Demonstrable ability to design and deliver development sessions at both a group and one on one level
  • A skilled presenter who is comfortable and experienced at facilitating workshops and meetings
  • A great networker and awesome at building relationships in order to influence L&D activities across the business
  • Experienced at taking learning briefs from internal clients and creating fit for purpose and commercially aligned learning interventions
  • You will have experience of, and be comfortable with, working with people at a range of levels
  • Ability to build positive relationships and rapport with others
  • Discreet, professional and well-presented, with great communication skills
  • A pro-active, positive and results-orientated approach with a focus on innovative approaches to constantly improve the L&D offering to the business
  • Is up to date with trends and innovations in training and development and makes recommendations
  • A complete finisher who enjoys the detail
