Purpose of Role/Job Overview

The primary responsibility of the accounts assistant will be the day to day reconciliations of all the cash coming into and going out of the business. You will be required to work closely with the accounts payable team, allocating payments made to suppliers, and also with the billing co-ordinators to ensure that money received from clients is allocated correctly. The role will also assist the management accounts and senior finance team with other ad-hoc responsibilities as required.


Key Accountabilities

  • Posting and coding of bank receipts and payments
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations on all the companies bank accounts, in an accurate and timely manner
  • Reconcile credit card receipts taken by the buildings to the correct client accounts
  • Send daily receipt reports to all building managers and billing co-ordinators so that they can identify payments from their clients
  • Maintain oversight of all the companies bank accounts and cash balances, and instruct transfers when required
  • Produce a weekly report for the senior finance team showing the cash positions and provide explanations of the large incomings and outgoings in the month
  • Work closely with accounts receivable and the building managers to keep all client accounts up to date and reconciled
  • Allocation of all direct debit payments to client accounts
  • Review and process staff credit cards and building petty cash cards
  • Assisting the management accounts and senior finance team with any ad-hoc reporting and administration they may require






  • Minimum of 6 GCSE’s at C grade or equivalent, including Maths and English


  • A-Levels




  • MS Office, including Excel and Outlook
